Amanda is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Case Coordinator in the Engage THRIVE program. Amanda earned her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Humboldt State University in 2013, holds a Bachelor’s in English Literature from UCSB and a California Teaching Credential from Antioch University Santa Barbara. Through the scope of various professions, she has provided client-centered care to At-Risk children, adolescents and teens over the past 9 years and works well with individuals facing issues related to trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, identity relationships, and life transitions. Drawing from strength approach models, Amanda works in collaboration with clients to help enhance the quality of life, feelings of connectedness to others, personal meaning, renewal of possibility and integrate a positive self-concept. Prior to joining the Engage team, she worked as an intensive school-based therapist for the Conejo Valley School District and is currently serving Ventura County schools as a school-based therapist. In her spare time, Amanda loves to spend time with friends and family, travel, go to the beach, hike, read books/watch films, play guitar/drums, spontaneous adventures, and going to concerts.
