Bijana obtained both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University. Her passion for the mental health field began through her work as a Clinical Assistant in a residential treatment setting, where she provided support for individuals who struggled with various mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, and substance abuse. She continued this work for 3 years while in pursuit of her bachelor’s degree. While completing her master’s program, Bijana went on to work at Counseling Partners of Los Angeles, where she provided individual and family counseling services to high school students and their families. She currently provides group therapy and does case coordinating work for Engage’s “Thrive” program, where she supports young adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.
Bijana incorporates humanistic and strengths-based approaches while utilizing cognitive-behavioral methods in her work with children, adolescents, adults and parents. She strives to help clients align with their values and passions, so that they may walk through life with excitement and admiration. Bijana values resilience, dedication, compassion, and empathy. She is drawn to working with young adults at Engage because she is able to surround herself with individuals who embody these qualities, both through working with clients and while collaborating within the Engage team.
Apart from her career, Bijana commits her spare time to volunteering with organizations like Reading Partners of Los Angeles and the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force. She also enjoys travelling, playing sand volleyball, and spending time outdoors with her family and friends.
